January 7 – February 23, 2016
The Rotunda of Islip Town Hall
401 Main Street, Islip, NY
Long Island history is rich with artists whose creativity was inspired here. When Bay Shore photographer Holly Gordon and Northport painter Ward Hooper connected on Facebook in March 2015, little did they imagine that creative sparks would ignite into a magical and transformative collaboration and friendship.
Along the way they discovered that their path inadvertently followed the footsteps of Arthur Dove and Helen Torr, two early American abstract artists whose relationship had a significant impact on their art.
The Brush/Lens Project is a contemporary union of two artists and you are invited and urged to share part of their creative journey through the sixteen images selected for this exhibit…and ponder whether this is the brush part or the lens part…
Visit www.brushlensproject.com to see and learn more about this incredible journey. A book proposal is in progress. Please contact to discuss the possibility of bringing this exhibit and gallery talk to your facility.
